Because great guests ask great questions...

— here are the answers!

What should I pack as a guest?

Pack for spring in Tuscany — think layers and comfortable elegance! Essentials include:

  • Light layers: The weather can shift from warm daytime sun to cooler evenings.

  • A light jacket or shawl: Evenings in the countryside can be breezy.

  • Comfortable shoes: Borgo Casa al Vento is a charming hilltop estate with cobblestone paths and grassy areas — heels can be tricky! Consider wedges, block heels, or dressy flats.

  • Swimwear: There’s a pool at the venue, and you may want to relax before or after the festivities.

  • Sunscreen and sunglasses: The Tuscan sun can be strong, even in May.

  • A travel adaptor: Italy uses Type F/L plugs (230V, 50Hz) if you’re coming from abroad.

What should I wear?

Dress code for the wedding day itself is formal, beyond that we want you to feel comfortable and wear what feels good for you.

  • For women: Flowy dresses, midi or maxi lengths, in light fabrics like linen, silk, or chiffon. Pastels, florals, or earthy tones look beautiful against the Tuscan landscape.

  • For men: Lightweight suits or smart separates — think linen or cotton in beige, navy, or light grey.

  • Footwear: As the venue is rustic, choose shoes that can handle uneven terrain.

  • Evening layer: Bring a light jacket, wrap, or blazer for cooler nighttime temperatures.

What will the weather be like in early May?

Early May in Tuscany is pleasant and mild, perfect for a countryside wedding!

  • Average daytime temperature: 20–23°C (68–73°F)

  • Evening temperature: 10–13°C (50–55°F)

  • Rain: There’s a small chance of light rain, so a compact umbrella or wrap is handy, but sunshine is the norm.

Expect golden light, green hills, and blooming vineyards — a gorgeous time to visit!

Where is the closest golf course?

If you’d like to enjoy a round of golf during your stay, the closest course is Royal Golf La Bagnaia, located about 50 minutes from Borgo Casa al Vento, near Siena.

This beautiful 18-hole course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and offers sweeping views of the Tuscan hills. It’s a perfect spot for a pre- or post-wedding game, complete with a clubhouse and restaurant overlooking the countryside.

Other nearby options include:

  • Castelfalfi Golf Club (about 1 hour 45 minutes away) — one of Tuscany’s most scenic and prestigious courses.

  • Ugolino Golf Club (near Florence) — Italy’s oldest golf course, about 1 hour 30 minutes away.
